Treadmill run

I did a 40 minute BFL run/walk on the treadmill this morning. It’s the first time in the past two and a half weeks that I actually felt good while running. It’s amazing how fast you lose running fitness. I’m dreadfully slow in the first place, but these recent efforts are downright tortoise-like.

A Visit with Santa Claus

Seeing that the opportunity to visit the Yule Goat was very unlikely, we took advantage of letting Boomer visit with Santa Claus at the local mall.

I think I overheard Boomer tell Santa that he wanted a Buzz. Thus the caption of this picture - “You’ve got to be joking! You really want ANOTHER Buzz?”

The Essence of Being Boomer

Snow

It snowed on Sunday. And last night. And again today. I shoveled the drive way and back porch.

Health Report - Final (Sort of)

I had the dreaded procedure done today. All’s well that ends well, no pun intended.

So my annual tests are all complete and no issues other than the non-cancer related high blood pressure and high cholesterol problems.

I began my blood pressure and cholesterol medicine regimen today. In two weeks I’ll be back in for a BP check, and 6 weeks back in for a blood work cholesterol check. I’m kind of perturbed that I have to take prescriptions for these issues. But in the long run (which I believe my life will be - a long run) it’s good to get the conditions under control and continue to pay attention to my diet and getting sufficient exercise …

… I’ve been alternating my exercise days - one day three times through the weight lifting circuit, the other day 40 minutes doing a double Body for Life cardio program on the treadmill. I’m doing this 6 days a week for a couple of months.
