Training Update
Tuesday, September 4, 2007
On Monday I did a 2800 yard swim workout followed by a 21.5 mile bike ride on my new favorite loop over the dam. An hour for the swim and an hour and a half for the bike ride.
Today (Tuesday 9/4) I did a 2500 yard swim workout in 55 minutes.
Tomorrow I’m planning to swim another (but different) 2500 yard workout. I’m getting my swims in early this week because I’m traveling Wednesday midday through late Friday afternoon.
Sunday Solo Ride to the Dam
Sunday, September 2, 2007
I got up and rode a 21.56 mile ride this morning. This was a solo ride as Matt is out of town. I also did it earlier than normal because there was no Headstrong meeting this morning.
I took the Highline Canal trail south to 470 then west to the top of Chatfield Dam, then back north along the South Platte River to Lee Gulch then east back to the Canal and home. It took be 1 hour, 31 minutes and 17 seconds. In my Heart rate Zone 3 (144-164) I was in zone for 1:12:12, my average HR was 148, peak HR 166, min HR 106, calories 1623.
I remembered to take my camera and took this shot of some hot air balloons from the top of the dam.
