I got up early Sunday morning and began my 25 mile bike ride at 5:45am, before the sunrise. I didn’t encounter any traffic along the Highline Canal trail and managed to snap this shot at the top of the Chatfield dam at sunrise. I hurried home and had a quick shower.
Then I was off to the British Bulldog Pub in downtown Denver with Eric to watch the Manchester United vs. Chelsea English Premier League match.
It was a lively crowd of mostly Man U fans. Eric and I had a traditional English Breakfast, and of course a few pints.
I think the Bulldog is a dive, but the atmosphere is pretty cool. My favorite aspect is the high-backed booths with hand-painted countryside scenes painted on the panels.
The game was pretty good, although I think the referee was paid off in favor of Man U. The crowd went nuts when they scored their first goal of the match enroute to a 2-0 win.
We had a great time, and Eric really loves his English football, and gets along well with his mates. I think he wants to be a full time hooligan.
