Self Motivation
So I haven’t blogged in a week or so (duh.) I’ve done the typical activity that you’ve been reading about – I’ve exercised (swim, bike, run,) Amanda’s volleyball team has played well (3-1 in their last 4 matches, plus an undefeated run at a 4 team round robin tournament,) I went to a high school football game between Class A defending State Champions Akron and local Denver Lutheran (I went to the game because Akron runs the single wing offense,) Oklahoma beat Utah State, I watched a great movie (Stranger Than Fiction,) and everyone in the family is healthy.
If I were reading between the lines of my own blog, I’d say that I find the material I post pretty damn boring, lacking in creativity, and way too sparse in terms of content, activity, and life.
If this is true, why blog then?
I’m looking for an inventive way of chronicling my life and times, and blogging seems a natural vehicle, but isn’t there more to report on than exercise habits and volleyball?
What did Boomer do today that was interesting? How was that conversation with Brittany and Danielle about what political party would Jesus be associated with? Doesn’t Becca just make you laugh because of her attitude? Tami is still learning to make the prefect hash browns, and it is fun to watch her technique develop.
There just has to be a more interesting way to put these thoughts and occurrences down in my blog. I’m not sure I’ll ever get the hang of it, so expect to continue to read about how far I swim, how many times I summit the dam at Chatfield, and volleyball results.
But also keep you fingers crossed that I will eventually find my voice.
